Oprah Winfrey is the latest celeb to join the chorus of critics that have bashed Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling for his comments on race, saying they were indicative of a “plantation mentality.”
When asked on CBS “This Morning” on Tuesday whether she had been following the story, Winfrey said: “Of course I’ve been following this story. It feels like a plantation mentality in the 21st century, in 2014, it just doesn’t fit. And, I’m waiting to see what they’re going to do, because something has to be done.” She reiterated her belief that action needs to happen “now.”…
On April 29, 2014, Sterling was banned from the NBA for life and fined $2.5 million by the NBA after recordings of him making racist comments were made public
