Police Launch Manhunt for Ogun Suspect Accused of Sexually Molesting 17-Year-Old Boy

The Ogun State Police Command has launched a manhunt for an individual identified as Kola, who is accused of repeatedly molesting a 17-year-old boy in the Adigbe area of Abeokuta, the state capital.

According to reports, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, ordered the immediate pursuit of the suspect after the incident was reported at the Adigbe Police Division on September 8, 2026.

The victim, whose identity is being withheld, alleged in his statement submitted in the presence of his parents that Mr. Kola sexually assaulted him on three separate occasions in January 2026. The boy further claimed that the suspect threatened him to remain silent about the abuse.

The command’s spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, confirmed in a statement on Thursday that, following the report, the victim was taken to a hospital in the Adigbe area for a medical examination, while detectives began their investigation.

The police emphasized that the case only came to their attention following the report on September 8, and that Kola is currently at large. DSP Babaseyi added that CP Ojajuni has instructed detectives to intensify efforts to locate and arrest the suspect as soon as possible.

The Ogun Police Command assured the public that the case is being handled with urgency, professionalism, and sensitivity. They reiterated their commitment to the protection of children and other vulnerable members of society.
