Remi Aluko: At one point, I contemplated using juju to enhance my career

Remi Aluko, the Nigerian Fuji singer, has revealed that he once contemplated using supernatural means, known as juju, to advance his career, but a significant personal event led him to reconsider.

In a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, Aluko shared that during his early struggles as a Fuji artist, he was taken to a traditional healer by someone who believed in his potential. After paying the healer, he was instructed to return in three weeks to receive a charm intended for use on women.

However, during that waiting period, his wife gave birth to a baby girl, which he described as a pivotal moment. The ‘One Time’ singer explained that becoming a father made him acutely aware of the potential repercussions of his actions. He feared that any harm he inflicted on others could eventually return to impact his own family.

Aluko stated that he never returned to the healer, despite having already paid for the charm.

“When I was trying to establish myself in the industry, someone took me to a healer who told me I had great potential. He said the charm he would provide should be used on women,” Aluko recalled. “At that time, I had also impregnated someone and wanted to test my fertility, which turned out to be successful.”

Interestingly, although he was aware that his wife’s delivery was imminent, he did not know the exact timing. The healer advised him to come back after three weeks for the charm, and it was during this period that he learned his wife had given birth to a daughter. The first thought that crossed his mind was the purpose of the charm he was supposed to collect.

“That was when I realized that God rewards every action. From that moment on, I felt a deep sense of fear and never returned to the healer again,” he said.

Aluko reflected on the tendency to mislead ourselves, noting that many invest money in misguided pursuits rather than seeking the right path at the right time.

In a related note, last month, fellow Fuji singer Saheed Osupa publicly admitted to using juju to attain success in the music industry, a revelation that has sparked discussions about the influence of supernatural practices in the field.
