Saheed Osupa urges the Federal Government: Take all necessary steps to rescue abducted schoolchildren

Saheed Osupa, the renowned Fuji musician, has urged the federal government to take swift and decisive action to address Nigeria’s worsening security crisis.

Osupa made this appeal during his performance at the third edition of the Ogudu Carnival in Lagos, where he specifically demanded the immediate and safe return of schoolchildren recently abducted by kidnappers.

Do whatever you can—these children must be released. Their parents have not benefited from this country’s wealth. Find a way to resolve this among yourselves, he implored during his set.

Leave the children out of this. The government should act quickly to rescue them. Decisions must be made without delay; do whatever it takes!

He continued, “We cannot remain calm in the face of pain. The poor in this country suffer silently, but why should it cost them their lives? It shouldn’t be this way.

Osupa’s heartfelt plea echoes the widespread public anxiety and outrage over persistent security lapses nationwide. Fresh anger has erupted following the recent abduction of students and school staff in Oyo State’s Oriire Local Government Area, where a teacher was reportedly beheaded during the assault.

Joining a growing chorus of celebrities voicing frustration, Osupa’s call follows British-Nigerian rapper Skepta’s recent criticism of President Bola Tinubu. Skepta expressed deep distress about the plight of Nigerians and questioned how much more the country must endure.

Osupa also appealed for global attention and support, describing the situation as a “deep level of injustice and frankly stating, Nigeria needs help.
