Kalu was apprehended by a vigilante group in Umuawulu, Akwa South local government area of Anambra state.

In a now-viral video, Kalu, who confessed to being a yahoo boy, narrated how he attempted to use his girlfriend for a money ritual.

Kalu said he recently joined a cult wherein he was told that he could bring somebody in exchange for money.

He said he informed his friend Chiemelie of his plans to use his girlfriend to “get money from her parents.

Kalu added that he and Chiemelie thereafter planned to tie the girl up and use her for ritual purposes.

I am from Abia state but I live in Akwa South with my friends. I do business online and I have been getting money from clients since I started, sometimes N500k or N200k, he said.

What brought me here is about my girlfriend. She is from Ebonyi state but she lives in Abaga, I have known her since 2020.

I planned with my friend Chiemelie to take her somewhere. At the place they said the bigger you bring, the more you get. I started going to that place last year. I wanted to use her for ritual because they told me that I can bring somebody.

The place is like a cult and anything you promise you must surely fulfill it. But since I have been going there I did not see anything, nothing came from it.

That was why I decided to use my girlfriend. I planned it with my friend Chiemelie. I told him that we will tie the girl up and lift her to where we are going. Chiemelie is aware, he is my friend and I told him everything.

I told Chiemelie that we will tie her up and use her to get money from her parents. I have never used anybody for ritual before.

Attempts to reach the Anambra state police PRO to speak on the matter proved abortive — as of the time of this report.
