Emotions ran high online after Wiznurudeen, a new signee of controversial Nigerian singer Portable, broke down in tears in a viral video, begging Fuji icon Saheed Osupa to forgive and release his boss from police custody.
The emotional plea comes following Portable’s arrest by the Kwara State Police Command on April 13, 2025, in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The arrest was based on a petition filed by Saheed Osupa, who accused the street-hop artist of multiple serious offences, including:
- Criminal defamation
- Threats to life
- Incitement
- Character assassination
- Conduct likely to breach public peace
- Use of abusive language
According to police spokesperson SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, a valid arrest warrant was secured from a Magistrate Court in Ilorin before Portable was tracked and arrested. The singer has since been transported to Ilorin for questioning, with legal representatives from both sides present during his statement.
In the tearful video that has gripped social media, Wiznurudeen appeared visibly shaken, calling on Saheed Osupa to “please temper justice with mercy” and withdraw the charges against Portable.
“Baba, please have mercy on us. He’s our helper, our provider. We beg you in the name of God to forgive him,” Wiznurudeen cried.
The video has sparked mixed reactions online, with some sympathizing with Portable’s team and others urging accountability for the singer’s repeated controversial behavior.
Investigations remain ongoing as Nigerians watch closely to see how the case unfolds.
