Tyrese Gibson Threatens to Quit ‘Furious 9’ If Dwayne Johnson Is In It

You mess with family and my daughters survival I mess with yours,” writes Gibson.

In a series of Instagram posts Wednesday morning, Tyrese Gibson laid down an ultimatum regarding the upcoming ninth “Fast & Furious” film, stating that if Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is in the cast, he would quit.

In his first post, Gibson called Johnson “selfish” for agreeing to a spinoff film with Jason Statham without considering Gibson’s situation, referring to his ongoing custody dispute with his ex-wife Norma Mitchell.

“I can’t afford to fight for my baby anymore so they’re likely going to take her away,” Gibson wrote, telling Johnson to make sure he kissed his own daughters when he gets home. “I’m almost broke swimming in legal fees.”

“Thanks Dewayne see you guys in 2020 and I will not delete this post cause the TRUTH of selfish people in Hollywood needs to be mentioned,” he continued. “To this day Dewayne has NOT called me back as u see me crying every 3 hours over my baby know #ShaylaRocks.”

The former R&B singer further said that he is unable to book any acting work because “my ex wife killed my reputation so no one wants to hire me.

“I’m sorry to announce that if Dewayne [sic] is in Fast9 there will no more Roman Peirce [sic],” he wrote later in the day. “You mess with family and my daughters survival I mess with yours.”

“Close your eyes dude you’re a ‘Clown’ … My real ones out here stand UP…… folks that GP to the gym and get big naturally #NoJuice #NoOJ spin off huh? Spin off these nuts selfish champ,” he added, alongside a photo of Vin Deisel hugging Gibson. “Notice who’s got his arms around my shoulder and who’s standing alone – #OurChildrenMatter.”

He also included the hashtag #CandyAssBitchMade.

This is not the first time Gibson has gone after Johnson publicly through social media. Just last month, when “Furious 9” was bumped from a 2019 release to 2020, Gibson wrote, “Congratulations to TheRock … for making the fast and the furious franchise about YOU.”

He went on to write, “Gn folks see you in 2020 April FastFamily right? Nah….. it’s about TeamDewayne.”
