Vaccine boosted U.S. Senator Booker hit by COVID-19

A second U.S. Democratic senator, Cory Booker has announced he had contracted COVID-19.

He had been fully vaccinated and also received a booster shot.

Booker from New Jersey announced his status on Twitter, hours after Senator Elizabeth Warren also made known her covid status.

Booker said he first began feeling mild symptoms Saturday.

Warren had made a similar report.

“My symptoms are relatively mild. I’m beyond grateful to have received two doses of vaccine and, more recently, a booster – I’m certain that without them I would be doing much worse,” Booker wrote.

I learned today that I tested positive for COVID-19 after first feeling symptoms on Saturday. My symptoms are relatively mild. I’m beyond grateful to have received two doses of vaccine and, more recently, a booster – I’m certain that without them I would be doing much worse.

Mr. Booker said he would “encourage everyone who is eligible to get vaccinated and boosted.”

He then reposted a campaign by vaccine.com, which lists the vaccine centres in the U.S.
