The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has announced the interception of a shipment of cocaine hidden inside phone chargers destined for Saudi Arabia.
According to a statement posted on X by NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi on Sunday, traffickers are increasingly using everyday items in attempts to evade detection.
Babafemi explained that although the chargers appeared ordinary, NDLEA operatives discovered the concealed drugs during inspection.

At first glance, these looked like regular phone chargers, but our officers were not fooled. Hidden within were consignments of cocaine intended for Saudi Arabia, he stated.
He emphasized that the incident serves as a reminder of the agency’s ongoing warnings to the public about the dangers of delivering parcels or luggage for others without proper verification.
This is why we continually urge people not to deliver any parcel or luggage for anyone without thorough checks, due to traffickers’ growing desperation,” Babafemi added.
