Rupert Murdoch, the 92-year-old billionaire media mogul, has announced his engagement to Ann Lesley Smith, a 66-year-old former police chaplain and widow of country music star Chester Smith.
The couple met last September at Murdoch’s Moraga vineyard in Bel Air, California, and got engaged on St. Patrick’s Day in New York City.

Murdoch revealed the news in an interview with The New York Post, one of his own publications, saying that he was “very nervous” and “dreaded falling in love” but knew that Smith would be his last wife. “It better be. I’m happy,” he said.
Smith, who was previously married to attorney John B. Huntington and then to Chester Smith, who founded the Spanish TV giant Univision, said that she and Murdoch “share the same beliefs” and “speak the same language”. She described their relationship as “a gift from God”.
Rupert Murdoch’s fifth wedding
The pair plan to tie the knot this summer and split their time between California, Britain, Montana and New York. This will be Murdoch’s fifth marriage after his divorce from former supermodel Jerry Hall was finalized in August of 2022. He has six children from his first three marriages.
