Joseph Aloba, father of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has refuted claims that he dismissed the nurse who allegedly treated his son before his tragic passing.
Aloba’s response comes after Mohbad’s widow, Wunmi, alleged in an interview with media personality Chudity on February 19 that he had ignored the issue after being informed about the nurse’s involvement.
“I Have Never Seen the Nurse” – Aloba
During a TikTok live session on Tuesday, Aloba insisted that he had never encountered the nurse in question, either in person or online.
> “I’ve never set my eyes on the nurse. If I had seen her, it would have been on the internet. We haven’t met physically.”
He further clarified that he never mentioned any nurse in his previous accounts of the events surrounding Mohbad’s death.
> “The nurse and I never had any conversation at all. Since I started narrating what happened to Mohbad that night, I never mentioned the nurse. I didn’t see any nurse there; nobody introduced the nurse to me.”
Aloba Questions Mohbad’s Property Transfers
Beyond the controversy over the nurse, Aloba also raised concerns about his late son’s properties, particularly those allegedly placed in his grandson Liam’s name.
He expressed confusion over how and why Mohbad’s assets were registered under Liam, stating that as a father, he had never made any purchases in Mohbad’s name.
> “I don’t know how they managed to do that. When he came back from his tour, I met him, and he said he had bought two new plots at Elepe but in Liam’s name. I do not know the reason.”
Aloba further alleged that all land documents were in the possession of Wunmi’s mother, except for one property at Gberigbe, which Mohbad had personally given him with the intention of building a church.
> “That is the only one I have access to.”
He also recalled that Mohbad had previously mentioned buying two acres of land in Agbowa and a plot in Elepe through Wunmi’s mother.
As the legal battle over Mohbad’s estate continues, these revelations add another layer to the ongoing dispute surrounding the late singer’s assets and the circumstances of his death.
