Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal Replaces Aguero in Kings League, Unveils New Team

Barcelona prodigy Lamine Yamal has officially taken over from Sergio Aguero in the Kings League and revealed his new team, La Capital FC. The 17-year-old forward is stepping into the shoes of the Manchester City legend, whose team, Kunisports, had participated in the league’s previous editions before shifting focus to the Kings League America.

Yamal explained the inspiration behind the team’s name, saying, “The name? Well, it was my cousin’s idea. We call our neighborhood ‘La Capital’ because for us, it’s the most important place in Spain, so ‘La Capital’. As for the crest, I like pink, and it looked good.” He also made a bold statement about the competitive spirit he values, adding, “Players who don’t have the heart of a champion don’t interest me.”

The Kings League, a unique seven-a-side football competition created by former Barcelona defender Gerard Pique in 2022, has quickly become a major draw in the football world. In the league’s inaugural season in 2023, El Barrio won the Winter Split, while xBuyer Team took the Summer Split. The most recent 2024 season saw Porcinos FC lift the title.

Yamal, known for his incredible skills and potential at Barcelona, will soon return to his main responsibilities, as he prepares for Wednesday’s Copa del Rey second-leg clash against Atletico Madrid. The tie is currently tied at 4-4 after a thrilling first leg.
