Award-winning Afrobeats sensation Fireboy DML lit up the iconic Royal Albert Hall on April 16, 2025, delivering an unforgettable night of music, energy, and emotion.
Taking the stage for his headlining concert, Fireboy serenaded fans with crowd-favorites from his discography, including hits from his critically acclaimed fourth studio album, ‘Adedamola.’
The show marked the official launch of his ‘Adedamola’ tour, with special guest appearances on the album from Afrobeat legend Seun Kuti and reclusive saxophone maestro Lagbaja.
Before Fireboy’s electrifying entrance, rising Afrobeats stars Fola and Ayo Maff set the tone with energetic opening sets, adding a new generation spark to an already star-studded evening.
From the soulful ballads to high-octane dance numbers, Fireboy reminded fans why he’s one of the leading voices of modern Afrobeats. The crowd sang along word-for-word, reaffirming the global reach of Nigerian music.
Fireboy’s journey to superstardom began in 2019 with the release of his debut album ‘Laughter, Tears, and Goosebumps’, followed by ‘Apollo’ and ‘Playboy’, which housed the international smash hit ‘Peru’ a song that soared even higher with a remix featuring British superstar Ed Sheeran.
Since then, Fireboy has broken barriers for Afrobeats, becoming the first Nigerian artist to perform at the main event of the BET Awards and the first Afrobeats act to perform at Wembley Stadium alongside Ed Sheeran in front of 80,000 fans.
Capping off a historic night at the Royal Albert Hall, Fireboy was honored with a special plaque recognizing his place among musical legends who have headlined the venue. He now joins a legendary roster that includes Wizkid, Adele, Ed Sheeran, Rihanna, Elton John, Jay-Z, Frank Sinatra, David Bowie, and Jimi Hendrix.
With this milestone, Fireboy DML continues to etch his name into Afrobeats history — and he’s only just getting started.
