Burna Boy Clears the Air on ‘Laho II’: “This Is the Original, Not a Remix”

Grammy-winning superstar Burna Boy has set the record straight about his collaboration with Shallipopi on the buzzing track ‘Laho II’, which dropped on April 25, 2025.

Amid fan confusion over whether the track is a remix or not, Burna took to Instagram to explain:

“If this ‘Laho’ was the remix, then I’d go first lol. This was actually the original version… It just couldn’t be cleared in time.”

According to Burna, ‘Laho II’ was recorded before Shallipopi’s solo version, but scheduling conflicts delayed its release so the Shallipopi-only version was released first.

Why This Matters:

  • ‘Laho’ is shaping up to be Afrobeats’ first global smash of 2025.
  • Burna Boy and Shallipopi gave fans an electric surprise by debuting ‘Laho II’ together at Burna’s record-breaking Stade De France concert in Paris.
  • The duo repeated the performance at Manchester’s Co-op Arena, hyping fans even more.

Burna Boy is also riding a wave of remix features, including ‘4 Kampé II’ with Joé Dwèt Filé.

Fans now believe ‘Laho II’ might even make it onto Burna’s upcoming eighth studio album, No Sign of Weakness potentially as a bonus track.

Do you think ‘Laho II’ has what it takes to dominate the global charts?
