Aniebiet Francis, a renowned Nigerian filmmaker and actress, has strongly advocated that women should never feel compelled to participate in sexual activities they do not enjoy, even within marriage.
Sharing her views on Facebook, Francis emphasized that women are not obligated to endure unsatisfying sexual experiences, likening such scenarios to sex slavery.
She further explained that women who are emotionally, intellectually, and financially empowered are more likely to set clear boundaries, including choosing when to engage in sex and how they wish to be treated during intimacy.
As a woman, any sex you are not enjoying is sex slavery. When you are emotionally, intellectually, and financially empowered, you will have the audacity to decide when you want sex and how your body should be treated during sex,” Francis wrote.
She added that even within marriage, husbands should never force their wives into sex or attempt to try new things without their partner’s consent and approval.
Francis is celebrated for her short films that delve into themes of humanity and social consciousness. Some of her notable works include “Trepidation,” “Loopholes,” “Higher Crime,” and “Final List.”
