Aderombi Adedayo, popularly known as Dee One, has taken aim at Davido for skipping the wedding of music executive Soso Soberekon.
Soberekon recently married his partner in a traditional ceremony in Delta State, followed by a white wedding held on Sunday.
In a video posted to his Instagram page, Dee One—who is also a former BBNaija housemate—expressed disappointment that Davido neither attended the celebration, sent a representative, nor publicly congratulated Soberekon.
“With everything Soso Soberekon has done for Davido, it’s only right that Davido should have been present at the wedding,” Dee One said in Pidgin English. “You couldn’t attend, none of your associates represented you, and you didn’t even tweet a congratulatory message.”
Dee One further alleged that Soberekon played a pivotal role in Davido’s career, claiming that the music executive facilitated one of the singer’s first multimillion-dollar deals.
“Do you know that the first person who helped Davido secure a million-dollar deal was Soso?” he asserted. “Let Davido deny it if I’m lying. Davido is proud and doesn’t like people to surpass him—he wants you to succeed, but not more than him. I’m really disappointed. So what’s the point of Soso working with him? What’s the benefit?
He further compared Soberekon’s wedding with Davido’s, claiming the former’s ceremony attracted prominent personalities from across the entertainment industry.
Congratulating Soberekon and his wife, Dee One urged Davido to celebrate the music executive publicly despite whatever differences may exist between them.
“David, try and wish your friend or your former friend. I don’t know what transpired. Soso has helped you in this life,” he said.
