Afrobeats superstar Davido has publicly endorsed prominent human rights lawyer Pelumi Olajengbesi’s bid for the House of Representatives in 2027.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, the Grammy-nominated artist whose real name is David Adeleke described Olajengbesi as his “other project” and declared him a “100% winning ticket.

Olajengbesi, based in Abuja, is known for representing high-profile clients such as D’banj, Moses Bliss, and Mercy Chinwo. He also leads the Imole Grassroots Mobilisation Network in his state. Davido had previously praised Olajengbesi’s significant role in a successful gubernatorial campaign, which led to the re-election of the incumbent governor.
Now, Olajengbesi is aiming to represent the Oriade-Obokun federal constituency in the House of Representatives. The legal practitioner, who celebrated his 40th birthday in August, previously contested the seat in 2019. This time, he is challenging Wole Oke of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the long-serving incumbent.
A chieftain of the Accord Party, Olajengbesi has emphasized the need for youthful, dynamic leadership and an end to what he calls the recycling of old ideas. He has pledged to deliver effective representation and drive development initiatives across the constituency if elected in the 2027 general elections.
Reflecting on his political ambitions in a 2024 interview with us, Olajengbesi expressed his commitment to championing the genuine emancipation of his people: I see myself in a place where I can supply the voice and the vision for the genuine emancipation of the people. In the next three years, I should be at the top of my practice. I would have gotten the very respectful level as SAN. I am sure I am going to be in politics. I know I will be in politics.
