24-year-old Desmond Quadri and 25-year-old Richard Orji were arrested by men of the Lagos State Police Command after allegedly stabbing and raping a woman in Ajah, where they had attended a party. The suspects said they had initially gone to answer nature’s call in the bush, but seeing a house without fencing or burglar proofing, forced their way in and stabbed the single female occupant in the shoulder and thigh. They then took turns to rape her before fleeing with the victim’s phones, Ipad, perfumes and other personal effects. The victim was found by neighbours, who took her to the hospital and reported the matter at the Ajah Police Division.
According to Punch the police was able to trace one of the victim’s phones to the person the suspects sold it to and that lead to their arrest.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, confirmed the arrest of the friends of 8 years who claimed to be graduates; Quadri a graduate of Business Administration from a polytechnic in Ogun State, and Orji, a graduate of Banking and Finance at a polytechnic in Delta State.
“The woman was taken to the hospital after the incident and she is responding to treatments. The suspects will be taken to court latest tomorrow,” he said.
