Arsenal have reportedly reached an agreement with Newcastle United to sign club captain Bruno Guimarães for £75 million.
According to Sky Sports, the Brazilian midfielder has been granted permission to travel for a medical as Arsenal edge closer to securing one of the Premier League’s most influential midfielders.
Guimarães, who joined Newcastle from Lyon in 2022, quickly became a key figure and was named club captain. His leadership and standout performances have been instrumental in Newcastle’s recent resurgence, helping the Magpies secure European football and establish themselves among the league’s elite.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is understood to have prioritised midfield reinforcements ahead of the new season, with Guimarães viewed as an ideal addition due to his ability to control matches, break up play, and contribute in attack.
The transfer would represent a major move for both clubs. Newcastle stand to receive a significant fee for a player central to their progress, while Arsenal are set to add further quality and experience to their squad as they prepare for another title challenge domestically and in Europe.
The deal is expected to be completed following the midfielder’s medical and finalisation of personal terms.
