Myles Lewis-Skelly made a dream start to his England career, becoming the Three Lions’ youngest-ever debutant goalscorer at 18 years and 176 days, as England secured a 2-0 win over Albania in their opening 2026 World Cup qualifier at Wembley.
The Arsenal teenager wasted no time making an impact, latching onto a Jude Bellingham pass before coolly slotting the ball through the Albanian goalkeeper’s legs, sending the Wembley crowd into a frenzy.
His Arsenal teammate Declan Rice was full of praise for the young full-back, hailing his confidence and professionalism.

“He is fearless,” Rice told ITV. “He does everything right off the pitch and he is only 18. I knew he was going to play like that tonight because of the confidence he has.”
Lewis-Skelly’s record-breaking goal surpasses Marcus Rashford’s milestone from 2016, when he scored at 18 years and 209 days.
With England set to face Latvia on Monday, the rising star will be eager to build on his electric debut as he continues his rapid rise for both club and country.
