The Oyo State Government has further relaxed the coronavirus curfew in the state and also asked final year students in schools to resume on June 29. All civil servants were also asked to resume duties.
After over two months of putting schools under lock and key due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, Oyo state government has taken a giant bold step by lifting the ban on learning centers effective from Monday, June 29.
The decision was conveyed by the executive governor of the state, Seyi Makinde, on Monday, June 15, via a statement by his chief press secretary, Taiwo Adisa.
Makinde declared that students in primary 6, JSS3 and SS3 should resume back to their respective schools in the state.
The governor also directed workers of all category to resume at the state secretariat from June 22, adding that in line with the federal government directives, curfew will henceforth be observed from 10pm to 4am.
Worship centres including churches and mosques will now open and operate at 25% capacity while public gathering will not be more 25 people. The governor also enjoined people of the state to engage in social distancing and exercise regular hand washing.

All worshippers are to compulsorily wear face masks,” the Oyo state government said. Oyo state has 575 cases of Covid-19 as the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced 68 new cases of the infection on Monday evening.
The governor made the comment on Sunday, June 14, during a live radio and television interview in the state. He expressed concern over the closure of schools but assured residents of the state that once there is a green light in conquering COVID-19, schools will reopen.
