On Tuesday, the Lagos State Government arraigned Olusola Shedrach before the State High Court in Ikeja on allegations of forcibly taking over and damaging a piece of land owned by Harvesters Church, located along the Gbagada–Oworonshoki Expressway.
Shedrach appeared before Justice Hakeem Oshodi to face a three-count charge involving forceful takeover, wilful damage, and breach of peace, as filed by the state.
During proceedings, state prosecutor Olufunmilayo Aluko requested that the charges be read to the defendant so he could enter his plea. The court granted the application, after which the charges were formally presented to Shedrach.
Aluko informed the court that Shedrach had allegedly seized the church’s property, caused intentional damage, and behaved in a way likely to disturb public peace.
The prosecution stated that these offences violate Section 2(1) of the Lagos State Properties Protection Law, 2016; Section 350 of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015, relating to property destruction; and Section 168(d) of the same law regarding conduct likely to cause disturbance.
Shedrach pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Following his plea, defence counsel O. Odueso requested a short adjournment to prepare and present a bail application. The prosecutor did not object.
Justice Oshodi adjourned the matter to April 22, 2026, for the hearing of the bail application, and scheduled the trial to begin on June 17, 2026.
