The horrifying attack unfolded in broad daylight on North End Road, Croydon, in August 2024. Amini, described by authorities as a dangerous sexual offender, relentlessly pursued his young victim, ignoring her pleas to be left alone.
In a sinister escalation, he trailed her into a secluded alleyway, where he forcibly kissed her, attempted to force a cannabis joint into her mouth, and issued terrifying threats, claiming ties to a recent stabbing in the area. Fearing for her life, the girl endured a traumatic rape that shocked the community.
The Metropolitan Police, leveraging cutting-edge investigative tactics, launched a relentless manhunt. Specialist detectives, aided by CCTV footage and forensic dogs, pinpointed Amini at the crime scene. After fleeing his London home the day after the assault, Amini’s attempt to evade justice led him to Liverpool, where phone data and surveillance footage ensnared him just five days later.
Detective Inspector Donnett Oseni, who spearheaded the investigation, branded Amini’s actions “predatory and calculated.
This sentence locks away a menace who targeted a vulnerable child, Oseni declared. The victim’s bravery in coming forward has ensured this monster can harm no one else. We hope this brings her some measure of peace.
Amini, convicted on January 1, 2025, now faces a decade-long Sexual Harm Prevention Order alongside his prison term, a move hailed as a critical step in protecting the public.
