Super Falcons head coach Justin Madugu has issued an apology to Nigerians after the team’s 1-0 defeat to Cameroon in the quarter-finals of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday.
Speaking to journalists after the match, Madugu accepted full responsibility for the loss.
As a result of the defeat, the 10-time WAFCON champions missed out on automatic qualification for the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil. The team will now have to secure a spot through the playoffs.
