FIFA has upheld the four-month ban it originally handed out to Luis Suárez after the appeal presented by the player and the Uruguayan Football Association (AUF), according to a press release by football’s ruling authority.
Suárez was issued with the four-month ban for his club side on the 25th June, and that included nine matches for his national team, after the incident in which he bit Italian defender Griogio Chiellini in a World Cup group match in Brazil. The current Liverpool forward and the AUF still have the option to take their appeal to The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
