Garnacho Issues Apology to Fans After Newcastle Defeat, Rallies Support Ahead of Lyon Clash

Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho has admitted the team’s woeful 4-1 defeat to Newcastle was “not enough” and has pleaded with fans to show up in full force for their crucial Europa League tie against Lyon on Thursday.

Taking to Instagram, the young Argentine said:
“It’s not enough. We know you all expect better from us, we’ll learn. We need you all at Old Trafford on Thursday. It’s a big day for all of us.”

The Red Devils were humbled at St. James’ Park, marking their 14th league defeat of the season. With their Premier League campaign all but collapsed, hopes now hinge on the Europa League, where they remain locked in a tense 2-2 draw with Lyon from the first leg.

Garnacho’s message echoes growing frustration among fans and players alike, as manager Ruben Amorim looks to salvage what’s left of a disastrous season. Anything short of a Europa League semi-final spot could spark major shake-ups at Old Trafford.

Up next, United face Lyon at home on Thursday before hosting Wolves on Sunday in the Premier League.
