Veteran Nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD) has revealed why he dislikes being called a “legend”, boldly declaring the title as a “scam”.
In a candid chat on Curiosity Made Me Ask, RMD explained that while he deeply respects true Nollywood legends like Olu Jacobs and Pete Edochie, he doesn’t see himself in that category yet.
“I think all those legend things are a scam. I have my legends like Uncle Olu Jacobs and Uncle Peter; those are our ancestors, our legends,” he said.
He humorously added, “I was still watching him when he was saying Ribena children are healthy children.”
According to RMD, being tagged a legend often feels like being pushed toward retirement, a stage he insists he hasn’t reached.
“So, no, I don’t subscribe to it… they are trying to relegate me to that neighbourhood of retired people or people who should be nearing retirement.”
The actor, known for his ageless charm and vibrant energy, made it clear: he’s not slowing down anytime soon.
