Nollywood actress and model Beverly Ada Mary Osu has revealed her reasons for exclusively dating older men, sharing candid insights into her romantic preferences and personal experiences.
In a recent sit-down with media personality Chude Jideonwo on his YouTube show, the outspoken actress opened up about her love life and the choices she has made when it comes to relationships. According to Beverly, one of the key reasons she avoids dating men her age or younger is because older men are more capable of meeting her financial needs and offering the kind of attention she desires in a relationship.
“I still date men who are older than me,” she said, without hesitation. “But the older men I’ve dated were just boyfriends there was nothing serious. They were not sugar daddies, but I still prefer older men because I want them to give me money and feed me.”
Beverly, who rose to fame through Big Brother Africa and has gone on to become a prominent face in Nollywood, didn’t shy away from the fact that financial security plays a big role in her choice of partners. But beyond that, she stressed the importance of emotional connection and time spent together things she believes are lacking when she’s with someone younger.
“I love attention and quality time with a man,” she explained. “That’s something I can’t compromise on.”
During the interview, she also touched on a painful chapter of her romantic past dating a married man. The actress admitted that it was a decision she came to regret, largely because she struggled with the dishonesty and secrecy that came with it.
“Dating another woman’s husband has never worked out for me,” she said honestly. “I don’t want to be another woman’s sadness. I don’t know how to pretend to love somebody, and I don’t want to be indebted to any man.”
