Former Super Eagles midfielder, John Obi Mikel is contemplating a move to Botafogo, in the Brazilian Serie A.
Mikel affirmed that there have been negotiations with Botafogo but a move is yet to materialise.He told ESPN, “Yes there has been interest, and yes there have been negotiations but I don’t know yet.
I am still thinking about it. Not sure yet.”The former Chelsea midfielder is currently a free agent after leaving Turkish side, Trabzonspor in March.
Mikel has plied his trade across the shores of England, China and Turkey, with his time at England-his first stint with Chelsea- being the most successful after lifting the UEFA Champuonseague and UEFA Europa League among other trophies.Should he make the move to Botafogo, Mikel,32, will become the first high-profile Nigerian name in Brazil.
