Ruger, the Nigerian singer, has responded with sarcasm after a TikTok user publicly wished him dead, claiming his recent music and social media activity were harmful to her mental health.
The controversy erupted when the TikToker whose identity remains undisclosed posted a video criticizing what she described as Ruger’s misogynistic and homophobic song. She further referenced a post allegedly made by Ruger that read: POV: You are the Afrobeats artist to make a song for the lesbian community. I love them.
In her video, the TikTok user explained that she had previously blocked Ruger on social media but chose to unblock him after a friend shared his content.
She concluded her remarks in Nigerian Pidgin, saying, Ruger gats die na the only thing wey fit help my mental health, meaning that only Ruger’s death would improve her well-being.
Ruger, whose real name is Michael Adebayo, shared the TikTok video on his X (formerly Twitter) page and dismissed the woman’s statements with mockery.
Rather than addressing her criticisms directly, Ruger shifted the focus to her physical appearance and eating habits.
