Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment, claiming he deliberately blocked her motions in the Senate after she rejected his advances.
Natasha’s Allegations:
📌 She alleged that Akpabio made inappropriate advances toward her at a pre-birthday event in his Uyo residence in December 2023.
📌 He allegedly told her, “Now that you are a senator, you will create time for us to spend quality time here.”
📌 When she tried to present a motion on corruption in Ajaokuta Steel Company, it was repeatedly removed from the Senate order paper.
📌 She claimed Akpabio later told her, “You can enjoy a whole lot if you take care of me and make me happy.”
Natasha also revealed that her Senate seat was suddenly changed without explanation, and some senators warned her it was a trap before her attempted suspension.
Akpabio’s Response:
🔹 Akpabio has denied all allegations, with his media aide, Kenny Okulogbo, calling Natasha’s claims “tissues of lies.”
🔹 He suggested that she was simply angry after being removed as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Local Content.
🔹 The Senate President’s office has promised to issue an official statement soon.
