In a video circulating online, Usher was in the middle of his signature cherry-feeding routine when he asked a fan how old she was. Upon hearing “16,” the R&B legend quickly stepped back, humorously double-checking, “Did you say, ‘16’?” After a brief moment of uncertainty, he asked again, “Are you really 19? You sure?” before deciding to have another woman feed the fan the cherry instead.
In the exchange, the fan replied, “I got a Black mom,” to which Usher jokingly responded, “My mom is Black too.” The hilarious back-and-forth made for a funny, yet careful, moment as Usher ensured everything stayed above board, proving that after years in the game, he knows when to tread lightly.
