Nigerian media personality and activist Verydarkman (VDM) has called for nationwide action following the abduction of pupils and teachers in Oyo State.
In a viral video, VDM criticized Nigerians’ tendency to move on too quickly from major incidents, describing this attitude as more of a curse than a blessing. He stressed that this time, the country must refuse to move on until the abducted victims are released.
VDM urged teachers to stand in solidarity with their colleagues by boycotting work starting Monday, June 1, 2026, until those in captivity are freed. He also appealed to parents, asking them to keep their children at home as a show of support for the abducted pupils, emphasizing that such collective action would help draw urgent attention to the situation.
