AC Milan midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek has undergone emergency surgery for acute appendicitis, ruling him out of action for at least a month. According to Sky Italia, the Englishman was rushed to the hospital ahead of Milan’s clash with Napoli, where he underwent the procedure. In his absence, Milan suffered a 2-1 defeat.
Loftus-Cheek, who has battled injury setbacks this season, has made just 14 Serie A appearances, missing 12 games due to muscular issues. He had only recently returned to action against Como before this latest setback.
Since joining Milan in 2023, the former Chelsea star has played 62 matches, scoring 10 goals and providing three assists. He is expected to remain in the hospital for two days before beginning his recovery.
Milan face Inter in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final in midweek, but Loftus-Cheek will be sidelined for around four weeks as he recovers.
