Cristiano Ronaldo is flying. The 30-year-old followed up his goalfest in Cornellà with a hat-trick against Shakhtar Donetsk, meaning he has now notched up a whopping eight goals in two games in the space of just four days.
Having broken Raúl’s club scoring record in La Liga against Espanyol, Ronaldo is now just one strike away from the legendary Spaniard’s historic tally of 323 goals in all competitions for ‘Los Blancos’. It would take a brave man to bet against the Portuguese ace becoming the club’s all-time leading marksman this weekend against Granada.
Ronaldo’s treble against the Ukrainians also took him back out ahead of Leo Messi at the top of the Champions League scoring charts, on 80 goals.
In addition, Cristiano has now netted three or more times in a single match on 36 occasions over the course of his career, 33 of which came in a Real Madrid shirt. The breakdown is as follows: 31 actual hat-tricks, 2 five-goal hauls and 3 four-goal showings.
