Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury to become the highest-paid athletes

Gradually we are getting more details of just what the deal of the fight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury will look like, and the most prominent heavyweight fight of the millennium will see the pair become the two highest-paid athletes around.

Not since 1999 has there been a unification of all the belts in the heavyweight division, and on that occasion it was Lennox Lewis taking on Evander Holyfield.

Joshua and Fury currently hold all the belts between them after Fury‘s heroic triumph over Deontay Wilder, in which he secured a stoppage victory over the previously undefeated American.

Initial suggestions are of a two-fight deal between the two, although what is becoming clear is that the first bout will be held in Saudi Arabia, the same venue for Joshua‘s victory over Andy Ruiz Jr.

“It will not be in the United States because, without wanting to offend anyone, Anthony Joshua doesn’t matter much in this country,” explained Fury‘s promoter, Bob Arum.

“We already have the location and the date needs to be confirmed, it could be in June because that would allow us to solve many problems with the coronavirus, as people will be vaccinated by then.

“Each one is going to make about 100 million dollars from the fight.
