Blessing CEO, a well-known Nigerian influencer, has resurfaced on social media weeks after a wave of public backlash over alleged claims of having stage four breast cancer.
The controversy erupted in January when Blessing CEO announced her diagnosis and shared what she said was a medical report to substantiate her story, asking the public for financial assistance.
However, Xinus Medical Diagnostics refuted her claims, stating that the report had been doctored. The diagnostic center revealed that the original document was issued to Deborah Mbara in May 2025.
Earlier this month, Mbara—a makeup artist and cancer survivor—came forward with her account of how Blessing CEO allegedly gained access to her medical report.
Following these revelations, Mbara’s family lodged a petition with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), accusing Blessing CEO of cyberbullying, forgery, and orchestrating a fundraising scam worth millions of naira.
The petition further alleged that Blessing CEO had defrauded sympathetic Nigerians of over N300 million by exploiting Deborah’s health ordeal.
The Nigerian Cancer Society (NCS) also called for a thorough investigation and pledged to collaborate with the appropriate authorities to ensure accountability.
Shortly after the accusations surfaced, Blessing CEO—whose real name is Blessing Okoro Nkiruka—deactivated her Instagram account. Weeks later, she reactivated the page.
A review by Gidipoint found that Blessing CEO has since deleted all posts related to her cancer diagnosis and interviews, leaving only a single documentary post advising women on proper breast examination.
