Deontay Wilder made a triumphant return to boxing by stopping Tyrrell Herndon in the seventh round after dropping him twice earlier in the fight.

Facing heavy underdog Herndon at the Charles Koch Arena in Wichita, Wilder showcased his power with a sharp left hook in the second round, sending Herndon to the canvas.
Herndon went down again in the sixth after a series of heavy punches left him slumped against the ropes.
In the seventh round, Wilder landed a big right hand that snapped Herndon’s head back, prompting the referee to stop the fight as Herndon could no longer defend himself effectively.
Despite not being a vintage performance, it marked Wilder’s first win since 2022.
After the victory, Wilder expressed relief, saying, It felt great. Thanks to my opponent. I’ve been laid off for a long time, getting myself back together emotionally. This is a new beginning for me.
With this win, Wilder hopes to work his way back into world title contention by 2026, aiming for major fights ahead, including a potential clash with Anthony Joshua.
