Kevin De Bruyne has thrown a curveball into his transfer saga, hinting that a Premier League stay could still be on the cards even after confirming his Manchester City exit this summer.
The 33-year-old midfield maestro, long rumored to be eyeing a big-money move to either the MLS or Saudi Arabia, told talkSPORT that “nothing is decided yet”, leaving room for a possible shock move to a Premier League rival.
“Honestly I don’t know. The decision to leave has not been long. I have to speak to them and then I will see whichever team wants me,” De Bruyne admitted.
The Belgian star, whose decade at the Etihad has seen him rack up six Premier League titles, five Carabao Cups, two FA Cups, and a Champions League crown, is now a free agent-in-waiting with no shortage of suitors.
While his departure from City is sealed, the door to staying in England seems ever so slightly ajar. Could another top-flight English side swoop for the playmaker? Or will De Bruyne still opt for a fresh challenge abroad?
Either way, his next move promises to be one of the biggest transfer stories of the summer.
