Luguentz Dort Rocks CF Montréal Jersey Ahead of Thunder-Pacers Clash

Oklahoma City Thunder’s Luguentz Dort made a bold fashion statement ahead of his team’s game against the Indiana Pacers, proudly donning a CF Montréal jersey. The move showcased his hometown pride while also highlighting the growing crossover between NBA and MLS fandom.

Dort isn’t the first NBA star to show support for an MLS club this season—Minnesota Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards previously sported an Atlanta United jersey last month.

Dort’s Impact on the Court

A defensive specialist, Dort has been a key piece for the Thunder since going undrafted in 2019. Over six NBA seasons, the 25-year-old forward/guard has built a reputation as one of the league’s toughest perimeter defenders.

For the 2024-25 season, Dort has averaged 9.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game, showing improvements in his shooting efficiency while maintaining his signature defensive intensity. His career stats stand at 12.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game.

CF Montréal’s Struggles in 2025

While Dort’s fashion choice highlighted his Canadian roots, CF Montréal is enduring a rough start to the 2025 MLS season. The club currently sits at the bottom of the Eastern Conference and the overall league table, with just two points to their name.

Their struggles led to the departure of head coach Laurent Courtois, and the club is yet to announce a permanent replacement. However, they managed to secure a surprising draw against the Chicago Fire on Saturday, offering a glimmer of hope in an otherwise difficult campaign.
