Mayorkun set to drop ‘Back in Office’ — first album in 3 years

Adewale Emmanuel, Nigerian singer better known as Mayorkun, has announced the release date for ‘Back in Office’, his much-awaited sophomore album.

In a post via his Instagram page on Thursday, the ‘Of Lagos’ crooner said the project would be released on October 29.

The musician also called on his fans to anticipate the project’s release, while thanking them for their support over the years.

“It’s been 3 years…finally my sophomore project – ‘Back In Office’ (The album) is coming October 29.. Thank you for holding it down for me every time.. Words ain’t enough,” he wrote.

The forthcoming project is Mayorkun’s first album since 2018 when he dropped ‘The Mayor of Lagos’.

The breakthrough album, which featured D’banj, Davido and Patoranking, garnered massive numbers across streaming platforms and also fetched the musician popularity.

Mayorkun has continued to pull the strings since then. The DMW signee has scooped several awards including the ‘Next Rated’ artiste at the 2018 edition of The Headies as well as ‘Artiste of the Year’ back in 2017.

He had last year put out a four-track EP remixing ‘Geng’, his hit track, featuring MI Abaga, Vector and YCee.

In August, the 27-year-old musician also came through with the visuals for ‘Let Me Know’, his first single of the year 2021.
