Mourinho Sues Galatasaray for Defamation Amid Racism Accusations

Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho has filed a lawsuit against Galatasaray, accusing the club of damaging his reputation with claims of racism.

The legal action follows a heated Istanbul derby that ended in a 0-0 draw, during which Mourinho made controversial remarks about Galatasaray’s bench behavior.

What Happened?

After the match, Mourinho commented:
đź’¬ “After the big dive in the first minute and their bench jumping like monkeys on top of each other…”

His words led to strong backlash, with Galatasaray accusing him of racism and threatening to report him to FIFA and UEFA.

As a result, the Turkish Football Federation (TFF):
âš˝ Banned Mourinho for four matches
đź’° Fined him ÂŁ35,218

However, Fenerbahce responded by supporting their manager and filing a defamation lawsuit against Galatasaray.

Fenerbahce’s Official Statement:

đź’Ľ “A lawsuit for moral damages of 1 million 907 thousand Turkish liras has been filed against Galatasaray due to the attack on the personal rights of our Technical Director Jose Mourinho.”

What’s Next for Mourinho & Fenerbahce?

Fenerbahce trail Galatasaray by six points in the Turkish Super Lig and will next face Antalyaspor on Sunday, March 2.

With tensions rising between the two clubs, this legal battle could further intensify their fierce rivalry. ⚡🔥
