Rafael Nadal has, once again, made it to the third round at Roland Garros, having overcome Richard Gasquet on Thursday evening. Winning by 6-0, 7-5 and 6-2 in two hours and 14 minutes, Nadal has reached the third round at the tournament for the 17th time in his career.
The Frenchman looked slightly lost for ideas against the Spaniard. That has been a theme of their past meetings, with Nadal having won each of the 17 they’ve played.
Celebrating his 35th birthday, Nadal picked up his 102nd win in Paris, equalling the number of matches that Roger Federer has won at the Australian Open.
Another meeting with Norrie
Cameron Norrie will face Nadal on Saturday for a place in the round of 16. Nadal has beaten him on the only two previous occasions that they have met.
