Tobi Amusan of Nigeria stormed to victory in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Rabat Diamond League in Morocco on Sunday, continuing her impressive season. The world record holder clinched her first Diamond League win of 2026, breaking her own meeting record in the process.
Amusan blazed across the finish line in 12.28 seconds—matching her season’s best and finishing well ahead of her competitors. Devynne Charlton of the Bahamas took second place with a time of 12.40 seconds, while the Netherlands’ Nadine Visser finished third in 12.47 seconds.
With this victory, Amusan shattered the previous meeting record of 12.45 seconds, which she had set at the same venue last year. The win is a significant milestone for Amusan, who had previously reached the podium but had not secured a Diamond League victory this season.
Earlier this year, Amusan placed third at the Shanghai Diamond League with a time of 12.41 seconds and improved to second at the Xiamen Diamond League in China, clocking 12.28 seconds.
Before her Diamond League campaign, Amusan also struck gold in the women’s 100m hurdles at the 2026 African Championships in Accra—securing Nigeria’s first gold medal of the competition. Her triumph in Rabat is expected to boost her momentum as she prepares to defend her Commonwealth Games title.
Amusan’s next appearance will be at the Wanda Diamond League meet in Rome, Italy, on June 4.
