Usain Bolt continues his quest to make it as a professional footballer and the Jamaican scored twice for the Central Coast Mariners in his first game as a starter against Macarthur South West United.It took until the second half for Bolt to get himself onto the scoresheet in a 4-0 win, beating the opposition defender on a long ball and holding him off well before finishing with his left foot.

He had missed a chance with his head in the opening 45 minutes, but he did get a second late on taking advantage of a defensive mixup to tap into an open goal.”Playing my first game as a starter and scoring twice is an incredible feeling,” the eight-time Olympic medal winner said.”I’m happy to show people that I’m improving my game and I want to be a Mariner and join the team.”?Ross McCormack, Scottish striker and ex-Aston Villa forward praised his teammate.”He is very humble,” he said of Bolt.”He fits in very well and he has made enormous improvements.”Bolt is still on trial in Australia and is not guaranteed a place in the squad.Previously, the Jamaican trained with Borussia Dortmund as well as clubs in Norway and South Africa.
