Paris Saint-Germain completed a memorable comeback to progress to the Champions League quarter-finals at Borussia Dortmund‘s expense on Wednesday evening.
The Bundesliga side carried a 2-1 lead to France from the first leg, but the Parisians did what they’ve had done to them too often and completed a second leg turnaround.
Not even 30 minutes were played when Neymar opened the scoring and gave PSG the advantage on away goals in an emptyParc des Princes.
The goal came, uncharacteristically, from a header inside the six-yard box as he found himself unmarked on a corner.
Erling Haaland had dominated the first leg with his two goals and the Brazilian rubbed salt into Dortmund’s wounds by imitating the Norwegian’s celebration.
The second came in first half stoppage time after some good buildup.
Pablo Sarabia put a low ball into the box and Juan Bernat was there to prod it home.
PSG were able to hold on in the second half, keeping their European dreams alive for another round at least.
