U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the ongoing armed conflict with Iran could last up to four weeks.
Speaking in a telephone interview with the British newspaper Daily Mail on Sunday, Trump said, From the beginning, it was estimated that it would take about four weeks.
He added, Iran is a large country; it could take four weeks – or possibly less.
During the U.S. military operation against Iran, three American soldiers have been killed and five others seriously wounded. In response, Iran has launched counterattacks targeting U.S. military bases in the Gulf region and other locations.
Trump praised the fallen soldiers as exceptional individuals and noted, Unfortunately, we expect these things to happen. It could continue to happen – it could happen again.
Similarly, Eyal Zamir, Chief of Staff of the Israeli military, echoed this assessment late Sunday. Zamir reported that Israel had achieved significant gains against Iran within the first 48 hours, but warned that many more days of fighting lie ahead.
