A statement released by the club in the early hours of Wednesday morning confirmed the transfer of 24-year-old, with Barcelona paying €4 million upfront and €1.5 million in variables.
FC Barcelona and São Paulo FC have reached an initial agreement for the transfer of Douglas Pereira.
The deal will cost Barça four million Euros with performance variables of another one and a half million based on games blocks.
Douglas will travel to Barcelona for a medical at the end of this week, when he will also put pen to paper on a five year deal and be officially presented as the Club’s latest summer signing.
Douglas’ transfer has been met with speculation, as many Sao Paulo fans feel that player is pedestrian and are surprised that Barcelona would take such a keen interest, where as Barcelona feel the player is a “pacey right wing back” who has played 95 matches over the past three seasons.
