Spice Girls to drop new edition of ‘Spiceworld’ album — after 25 years

The Spice Girls are set to release a special edition of their sophomore album titled ‘Spice World’.

The group announced the new edition via Twitter on Tuesday ahead of the project’s 25th anniversary.

‘Spice World’ was initially released back in November 1997.

It featured some of the girl group’s biggest tracks including ‘Too Much’, ‘Spice Up Your Life’ and ‘Stop’.

The group said the new edition is to be released on November 4.

“To celebrate 25 years of Spiceworld, we’ll be releasing a new anniversary edition on November 4th that features lots of goodies such as demos, unreleased live recordings, new remixes, and unreleased tracks,” they tweeted.

The Spice Girls group was formed in 1994.

It consists of Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell, and Victoria Beckham.

With their “girl power” mantra, they redefined the girl-group concept by targeting a young female fanbase.

The group led the teen pop resurgence of the 1990s and became pop culture icons of the decade.

They had signed to Virgin Records and released their debut single ‘Wannabe’ in 1996.

The song reached number one on the charts of 37 countries.

Their debut album ‘Spice’ (1996) sold more than 23 million copies worldwide.

It became the best-selling album by a female group in history.

The follow-up album ‘Spiceworld’ (1997) sold more than 14 million copies worldwide.
