The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially announced the release of the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results for school candidates.
The announcement was made on Wednesday via WAEC’s official X (formerly Twitter) account. Candidates are instructed to generate their Personal Identification Number (PIN) at waec.org and visit waecdirect.org to access their results online.

To check their results, candidates must obtain their PIN and serial number from the WAEC website, then provide their examination number, registration details, and the National Identification Number (NIN) used during registration, along with contact information for verification.
This year’s examination saw participation from approximately 1.96 million candidates representing over 24,200 secondary schools nationwide. The exams were conducted between April 21 and June 19, 2026, utilizing both traditional paper-based and computer-based testing (CBT) formats. Notably, the adoption of CBT increased compared to previous years.
WAEC had previously indicated that results would be released about 45 days after the final paper. This release also follows the earlier publication of results for the 2026 First Series of the Computer-Based WASSCE for Private Candidates.
